Independent Project Review (IPR)
graphic
Hello and welcome to our Independent Project Review service.
We are a group of Project Controls and Risk Management professionals led by me, David Winter (Order Efficiency Ltd), working together to provide a straightforward Independent Project Review service to Project Owners across the whole range of industries.
Our proposition is simple. We work with your Project Team to carry out a series of project review exercises that feed a template 'project health' matrix that forms a perpetual reference on how the project's progress compares to the industry standard ideal.
We join your team for an agreed duration and a defined cost ceiling and leave you with a fully formed strategy that your project team can use to move the project towards successful completion.
The main output of our service is a document with analysis results and suggestions for strategy adjustment and action plan.
A secondary output is the option for continuation of a fully functional communications system that we set up during the exercise. Your project team can use this for the gathering of ongoing feedback from the project staff in further development of the project schedule.
Once you have experienced our IPR service, we think you will come for repeated Project Reviews  as your project progress through its phases. Our communications system in place makes subsequent exercises easier and faster than the first, at a lower cost ceiling because work in creating the system has already been done.
For a service description, and a commercial proposition please go ahead and browse the site, especially the downloads and videos below.
If you decide that you would like to go ahead with an IPR exercise and would like to talk over the next steps please just let us know. It would be our pleasure to get this started.

Kind Regards,
The IPR team

'This Site as an Overview Map' (one page pdf)
Using the overview map, you can make best use of the [XX] indexing. This helps to keep your browsing in context with the whole site.
'The IPR Presentation Slides' (powerpoint slide set)
For offline reading, the Powerpoint Presentation slides shown in this site.
'The Commercial Proposition' (pdf document)
For the Project Owners visiting the site, this is a document that captures the commercial from our perspective. It is intended for use by your Contracts team in making a call off services contract for ongoing take up of our service.
'Navigating the Web Interface' (word document)
The screenshots in the document are taken from our demo application. This is a demo from an earlier stage of development when we were working with Petrotrin. The idea is to show the 'simplicity' of the Web Interface as an effective collection mechanism for status information direct from the work place. It's a form of the Delphi technique but project-wide.

Videos
'A Brief Welcome to the IPR Site' (2 min video)
This is a simple personal message from me introducing the IPR and welcoming the user to view a growing library of instructional videos and other materials that concern our service.
'Navigating the Open Document' (6 min video)
This is a demonstration of the use of the 'Open Document' in our service. The open document here concerns the IPR service directly and is a comprehensive description of it based around a Powerpoint Presentation (attached).
We use the Open Document widely in our work on project reviews as they serve as effective tools for gathering information on the topic of the Open Document. The topic can be anything, for example a meeting report, an analysis of a Concern.
The report itself will be built up in Open Document form so that project participants can follow its development and contribute to it. The video walks you through the process.
'Accessing Projects via the Web Interface' (4 min video)
This is a simple introduction to the Project Review information that is stored in our database and accessible via a browser. This video doesn't go into the site, but just explains how to access it and introduces the concept of the 'general comment' which is how we collect anonymous feedback from project participants and how we get buy-in from project participants by encouraging them to 'request' access to the review.
'The PHC Demo' (25 min video)
This is not directly relevant to the IPR but is included here as a background behind the idea of the IPR and the way we do it. The purpose of this video  when it was first produced was to present to companies the idea of the PHC (Project Health Control) methodology and it's application to Project Controls.
We had little success in introducing this concept to companies directly, and the 'trial project' that we have been looking for remains to materialise!
The principles demonstrated in Project Control through Concerns Management and Deliverables Tracking are however still relevant today and always will be. We use certain parts of the PHC methodology (the tools for communication and analysis) in our IPR service.
This is included for your insight into how our IPR service has developed. Also, though it is quite a different approach to the conventional review, it should show how our approach allows exciting possibilities for the effects of our review on enhancement of project performance.
